Earth day is this week (April 22nd) and always serves as a helpful reminder to take care of our planet, but we shouldn’t just think about being conscious of our actions on one day. Here are some simple and easy reminders of things you can do to help make every day Earth Day:
- Bring your own bag: This simple step cuts down on relying on pesky plastic bags that can take up to 1,000 years to break down in a landfill and with so many stores selling reusable bags you really have no excuse!
- Use a reusable bottle instead of using disposable plastic water bottles
- Turn off the faucet while your brushing your teeth: You can save up to 8 gallons of water a day!
- Don’t throw away your plastic bags: Though you can’t put them in your blue recycling bin you can save them up and take them to your local grocery store where they have designated bins and they can recycle them for you.
- Recycle your unwanted clothing and housewares by donating them: Don’t throw them away or take large items to the dump. Donate them to a local organization where they can be used all over again.
